about mainstream clothier:

Mainstream Clothier will reach its 20 year mark in 2011. Laura Scarfo founded Mainstream in 1991; her versatility and hard work are the keys to making Mainstream a popular shopping destination.

Says owner Laura Scarfo; “fashion should be fun and not intimidating”. I felt there was a niche that needed to be filled in Downtown Oakville. Women 35-55 were looking for fun, sexy fashions and someone who could put it together creatively for her body and her busy lifestyle. We train and certify our Mainstream style consultants to fill this need with our clients”.

Laura Scarfo- Owner Mainstream ClothierHaving been raised in Oakville, Laura is no stranger to the Oakville fashion scene. Her parents, Dominic Scarfo and Shirley Jane Scarfo have owned boutiques and hair salons for over thirty years in Oakville. Sadly Laura’s mother Shirley Jane passed away from breast cancer in 2004, which is why Laura is a supporter of the Canadian Cancer society amongst other charities such as the Hamilton and Burlington SPCA and the Oakville and District Humane Society.

Mainstream is known for it’s outstanding level of customer service. It can offer personal shopping service, wardrobe consultation and planning, alterations, delivery and even after-hours shopping complete with all the finishing touches like gift-wrapping.

Each team member we hire must go through a 3-6 month Mainstream Style Consultation training program. Upon completion they receive a Style consultant certificate. This ensures the staff are knowledgable on how to dress our clients for their body type and their lifestyle. As we know our clients have very busy lives and come to us knowing we will dress them.
Our motto is "Don't Be Shy, We'll Dress You"
